What we Do
The Watoto Some initiative is an organization that offers scholarships to needy and bright high school students in Kenya, with our pivot focus being in the Maara constituency in Tharaka
Nithi County and Igembe region in Meru County.
This initiative was started from a WhatsApp group by youths from the Maara constituency after realising the gap in primary to secondary school transition due to poverty and vulnerability.
So far we have 59 beneficiaries in Maara, of these, 58 are in Day schools and 1 in Chogoria Girls High School. Further, of the 59, 29 are in form 1, 29 in form 2 and 1 in form 3.
In Igembe we have 15 scholars in form 1, 12 in Day school and 3 in Boarding school i.e. Maua Girls, Nkuene Girls and Nkubu Boys.
